Websites we have built

An honest look at the kinds of sites we make for UK small businesses, the briefs behind them, and the shape of the work.

01 / Honest first

A working portfolio, not a polished gallery

ctrl.alt.elite is early stage. Rather than dress up a thin gallery as a vast back catalogue, this page is about the kinds of work we take on, the briefs we hear most often, and how we approach each one. If you want to see live URLs of recent builds in your industry, ask on a call and we will share them.

We build hand-crafted sites for UK small businesses. Trades, clinics, salons, hospitality, professional services, and the occasional one-page launch. The technology underneath is the same. The shape on top is always different because the businesses are different.

The blog is the other place to look. We write up the thinking behind builds, what we tried, and what we changed after launch. It is more useful than a logo wall.

02 / The kinds of work we take on

Six project shapes

Different industries, same care. Here is a snapshot of the briefs we see most often.

Service trade sites

Plumbers, electricians, roofers and builders. The brief is always the same: make the phone ring. Big call buttons, areas covered, photos of finished jobs, a quote form that does not waste anyone's time.

Clinic and practice sites

Dentists, physios, chiropractors and private GPs. Trust signals up top, treatment pages that explain in plain English, appointment booking that hooks into the systems clinics already use.

Studio and salon sites

Hair, beauty, tattoo, photography. Image-led layouts that let the work do the talking, with stylist or artist pages, price lists that update easily, and a booking flow that does not lose mobile users.

Hospitality sites

Cafés, restaurants, pubs and food trucks. Menu front and centre, opening hours that update themselves, mobile-first because that is where every diner is when they are deciding where to eat tonight.

Professional service sites

Accountants, solicitors, mortgage brokers, consultants. Service pages, fee transparency where it helps, qualifications and regulators visible, and a contact flow that filters the right enquiries through.

One-page launches

When a small business needs presence fast and a full site is overkill. A single, well-built page with the offer, the proof, the price and the call to action. Live in days, not weeks.

03 / How a build runs

From brief to live site

01

Brief

Each project starts with a real conversation about what the business sells and who it sells to. Not a templated questionnaire.

02

Sketch

We map the pages, write the headlines, and rough out the structure. You see where everything goes before any visuals land.

03

Design and build

Visual design and production build run in parallel. You get a clickable preview, then a staging URL to test on real devices.

04

Live and looked after

Launch, portal handover, and ongoing changes on request. The site keeps evolving as the business does.

FAQ

Common questions

Where are the case studies?

We are early stage and would rather show honest project types than dress up two finished sites as a portfolio. As we ship more work, full case studies will land here. In the meantime, if you want to see live examples relevant to your industry, ask on a call and we will send links.

Can I see a site you built for a business like mine?

Probably yes. The fastest way is to tell us your industry on a quick call. We will share live URLs of comparable builds where we have permission to do so. We do not publish client work without their say-so.

Do you only build a certain style?

No. The shape of every site comes from the business it serves. A florist site should not feel like a law firm site. We design from a blank canvas every time so you do not end up with the same layout as someone in a different industry.

What size of business do you usually work with?

Sole traders, partnerships, and small teams up to about twenty people. The common thread is owners who need a site that works without them having to learn a CMS or hire a marketer.

How do I know your work is any good if there is no portfolio yet?

Fair question. Start on the free plan, see a clickable design preview before paying anything, and judge the work in front of you rather than by a gallery. If you do not like what we make, you walk away with no bill.

Want to see a live example for your industry?

Book a quick call. We will send you URLs of comparable builds and talk through what would work for you.
