Web design for opticians

An optician's website that books sight tests, sells your frame range and reminds patients why independents beat the chains.

01 / Independent opticians deserve better

The chains spend millions. You spend an evening updating a Wix site

Independent opticians compete on craft, clinical care and frame curation. The chains spend millions on marketing and slick websites. So when patients search for an eye test in your town, the chains are the polished result and you are the one with a stock photo of an eye chart and a phone number from 2017. That gap is fixable.

We build optician sites that look like the practice itself - considered, calm and clearly independent. Sight test booking that integrates with your diary, NHS eligibility explained without the jargon, frame ranges curated like a shopfront, and the GOC details patients quietly look for.

After launch, the site keeps pace with the practice. New brand in, holiday cover, a contact lens subscription tweak - send a message in the portal and it is live the same day.

02 / What opticians get

Built for independents, not chains

Booking, eligibility, frame curation and the trust signals patients actually look for.

Eye test booking that does not need a phone call

We connect to Optix, Ocuco, Acuitas or your in-house diary so patients can book a sight test, contact lens check or OCT scan online. NHS and private slots are kept clearly separate.

GOC registration and dispensing optician details

Your GOC numbers, dispensing optician credentials and any IP-qualified optometrists go on the practitioner pages. Patients trust independents that show their workings.

NHS funding eligibility explained simply

Who qualifies for a free NHS sight test, who gets a voucher towards glasses, who pays in full. We write it without the jargon so patients arrive with the right expectations.

Frame ranges and brands you stock

If you carry Lindberg, Tom Ford, Ray-Ban, Maui Jim or independent UK frames, that is the reason patients come to you instead of a chain. We give brands the prominence they deserve.

Contact lens subscriptions and direct debit

If you offer monthly contact lens plans or eye health schemes, we build a clear page that explains what is included, what it costs and how to sign up without paperwork.

Your high street, not Specsavers'

Independent opticians compete on relationships, expertise and frame curation. The site should look and feel nothing like a chain. Hand-built typography, your own photography, your own voice.

03 / How it works

From first call to a full sight test diary

01

Practice conversation

We talk about your stock, your test mix, your NHS-private split and your diary software. The site is shaped around what makes your practice different from the chains down the road.

02

Pages and pricing

We draft your sight test, contact lens, eye health and frame pages with you, agree on prices and lock down NHS eligibility wording before anything is built.

03

Build and integrate

We build the site, connect your booking diary, add a contact lens subscription form if you want one, and walk you through the staging URL before launch.

04

Launch and look after

We move the domain, hand you the portal and adjust pages as the practice changes. New brand arrival, new optometrist, holiday cover - send a message and we update the site.

FAQ

Common questions

Can patients book a sight test online with us?

Yes. If your diary software has a public booking link or widget - Optix, Ocuco, Acuitas, iClarity, FYI Visual - we connect to it. If it does not, we build a clean enquiry form that drops the request straight into your reception inbox the same minute.

How do you handle NHS sight test eligibility on the site?

We add a short eligibility section in plain English so under-16s, over-60s, diabetics, glaucoma patients and benefit recipients understand what they qualify for before they arrive. It saves reception five minutes per phone call.

Can the site show our actual frame stock?

We can build a curated frame gallery, organised by brand or by style, that you update through the portal. We do not normally sync your full stock list because patients respond better to a curated 'what we love right now' than a 400-frame catalogue.

Will it help us compete with Specsavers and Vision Express in our town?

Independents compete on craft, frame curation and clinical care, not price. The site is written to lead with those, and locally targeted pages help you appear next to the chains in Google for sight test searches in your area.

Can we sell glasses or contact lenses online?

We do not build full prescription e-commerce because it is rarely worth the hassle for an independent. We will happily build a contact lens subscription signup, a frame enquiry flow and a click-and-collect path for accessories.

Do we need to manage anything ourselves after launch?

No. Hosting, security, backups and updates are part of the £79 plan. New optometrist, holiday hours, frame brand added, price change - drop a message in the portal and the site updates same day.
